Racine United Methodist Church History

The United Methodist Church of Racine was established in 1891.  Services were first held in the Racine schoolhouse.

The congregation was organized and an official elected in May, 1892.  The church was then built that summer and fall at the cost of $1,400. The current building is a merging of three area churches - Methodist, Baptist, Congregational, plus various remodeling projects.  In 1970, the parsonage was built just south of the church.

Each fall, Racine's congregation holds a Chicken Pie Supper, which has been an annual event for 100+ years.
